Roles & Groups

Unlike Jira Server we are not able to add new Exply permission groups to your Jira Cloud instance. Therefore, we're using another approach.

After the Exply for Jira add-on is installed we duplicate every administrator-group from your Jira instance to the Exply User Management as we assume that administrators are allowed to see Exply.

Within the Exply User Management there we pre-defined some groups for you to use/adjust:

• exply-administrators
  • all rights
• exply-analysts
  • allowed to edit Dashboards
  • allowed to see all data
  • can't grant permissions
• exply-team-members
  • allowed to only see own time records
  • allowed to see all assigned projects and included issues

 All groups are assigned to the role "can see Exply".

The next two groups are Exply internal groups, that don't show up in Jira and are only used for the internal rights management:

• All Projects Issues
  • Allowed to see all issues of a project
• Own Work logs
  • Allowed to only see own time record data
