Jira Data Migration first
Please note that you need to migrate Jira data before starting to migrate Exply Dashboards to your new instance.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Copy and save the Exply configuration folder from your Jira home directory. All Dashboard configurations, permission rights, etc. are stored there. The folder is located at:
$JIRA_HOME/ExplyPlugin/Configuration - Copy and save the Exply assets folder from your Jira home directory. All your custom images (e.g. Dashboard title images) are stored there. The folder is located at:
$JIRA_HOME/ExplyPlugin/Data/Persistent - Install Exply for Jira Cloud in your new Cloud instance
- Configure Exply user and group permissions in your new Cloud instance
- If applicable, configure the Tempo authentication configuration within the Jira Cloud data source
- Get in touch with the Exply support team
- The Exply support team will identify your new Cloud instance
- The will ask you to send them the previously saved Dashboard configurations and assets, so that they can import them into your new Cloud instance
- Confirm that you can see your Dashboards and assets in your new Cloud instance by opening the Exply app

Widgets can fail to render charts
Note that widgets in your Dashboards can fail to render data if the fields that they are based on are not existing anymore. This can happen when Jira Server add-ons are not available for Cloud and therefore some custom fields are missing.
